We have received our Disney World tickets and I was surprised to find they were paper, vs. plastic. With some of the rides involving water, is there a surefire way to keep the tickets safe? They are "5 day park hopper tickets".

Disney theme park admission media do come in a variety of forms, many of them paper.

You should know that there are really only two rides at the theme parks where you could expect that you or your belongings would get significantly wet: Splash Mountain in the Magic Kingdom and Kali River Rapids in the Animal Kingdom. The simplest and cheapest way to keep your tickets safe and dry would be just to put them in a ziptop plastic sandwich bag in your pocket. We've often done this and never had any problems at all. If you're looking for a more high-tech solution, I have two ideas:

    1. At most of the pin-trading locations in the theme parks (and at many other places) they sell lanyards to wear around your neck. Many of the lanyards have a clear, plastic card-sized pouch at the bottom. You could pop your key in here and wear it safely around your neck.

    2. At the waterparks and at some of the pool-side gift shops, they sell waterproof neck-safes. These are hard plastic cases that could hold several tickets or credit cards and a few bills. You also wear these around your neck.

If something happens to your ticket and you still have it, there are ways to fix the situation. For example, my mother once had a part of her paper ticket rip off. We brought the pieces to the guest relations office at the park we were visiting, and they were able to issue her a fresh ticket.

I'm sure one of these solutions will work for you.
