Hi, Cindy, and welcome to planDisney! I see you're a planner after my own heart because food is my top priority when I visit
Walt Disney World Resort. But sometimes it's tough to book particular dining experiences, so let's talk about some strategies for a tasty trip.
Unfortunately, there isn't an alert system to let guests know when a restaurant has an opening. But I know from experience that seats open up, especially as the date gets closer. Plans change constantly, so my best tip is to keep checking. My favorite way to check dining availability is on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Just tap the plus sign at the bottom of your screen and choose Check Dining Availability. You can also search for a specific restaurant by tapping the search button at the bottom.
If I'm hoping to snag a meal at a popular spot like
Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park, I'll often hop on the app at stoplights, in waiting rooms, and first thing in the morning over my coffee. I've had fantastic luck this way, so I'm waving my magic wand that you will, too!
I always book a Plan B, Cindy, and I've been pleasantly surprised when some of these second-string choices have become new favorites. For example,
Tony's Town Square Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park often has availability, and over the years, it's become my husband's go-to meal. We enjoy sitting out on the patio, where we've watched parades and the flag-lowering ceremony from our table. Sometimes, those Plan Bs will surprise you!
And don't discount Quick Service options, especially with the
Mobile Ordering feature on the app. My family loves the convenience of placing orders early in the day and specifying our pick-up time. Grabbing a Plant-based Dog at
Casey's Corner is an easy and delicious lunch. I'd be happy to hear your favorite finds if you try it.
Cindy, I'm sprinkling pixie dust so you'll have some marvelous meals on your upcoming visit. Please
stop by planDisney anytime! I'll have the napkins freshly pressed.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
