Hiya, Paul.
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you followed that trail of pixie dust that led you here today and would be happy to help.
I’m sorry to hear someone in your party can’t come along on your magical adventure as planned. The good news is all is not lost where their ticket is concerned. While tickets can be assigned to an individual on the Disneyland Resort website or in the
Disneyland mobile app ahead of your arrival, the tickets aren’t officially assigned to a particular person until they scan the ticket at the park entrance for the very first time. Once they do, the Cast Members at the entrance will snap their photo and assign the ticket to that individual for the remainder of its length. This means someone else can simply use the ticket in their place. However, if you would rather clear up the name issue ahead of your arrival, you can always
contact Guest Services.
Now, while Disneyland Resort theme park tickets are not officially assigned to an individual until they scan in at the gates, there are a few caveats where military tickets are concerned.
Disney Military Promotional Park Hopper Tickets require the military member or spouse to be present when the ticket is activated, and they must be using one of the tickets. Thus, if the military member or spouse is the one who can no longer attend, you won’t be able to use the tickets until they can come along. If, however, the ticket is simply a discounted standard theme park ticket purchased from a military ticket office, you can follow what I mentioned above with reassigning the ticket when scanning into the park entrance.
I hope this information proves helpful, Paul, but please stop by planDisney again if you have further questions or need more clarification. Enjoy your trip!
Have a magical day,
Alyssa
