Can I reassign a child’s ticket to there parent to manage as it was a gift.

Hey, howdy, hey, Doris, and welcome to planDisney! The gift of a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park ticket is extra magical, and I'm happy to chat with you about how to reassign the ticket to the child who intends to use it! Let's get started!

Denise, when you purchase a Theme Park Ticket, you have the option to assign the ticket to any Guest who is on your Family & Friends list in your My Disney Experience account. You also have the option to reassign an unused ticket to another Guest who is connected to you. For children under the age of 13, because they are not eligible to create their own profiles, they will have what is called a managed profile, usually created by a parent. What I would recommend first is to connect to the child's parent who will be managing the plans and traveling with the child. Once you and the parent are connected, you should be able to find the child's managed profile by going to your Family & Friends List, selecting Add a Guest, and choosing Find through my connected Guests. Here you should see any managed profiles for children under the age of 13 along with the name of the adult who manages them. You can choose the profile you would like to link to and wait for the parent's approval. Once you are connected to the child's account, you can reassign the ticket to their account from your list of Tickets & Passes on the My Disney Experience mobile app. Select the tile at the top left of the app, choose the ticket you would like to reassign, select Reassign Ticket, and then choose the profile from your Family & Friends to complete the process!

Doris, once the ticket has been reassigned, the parent who manages the child's profile will be able to link a MagicBand for admission or create a Disney MagicMobile pass on behalf of the child as well as make any required theme park reservations for their visit. What's most magical about the managed profile is that the individual MagicBands, tickets, and reservations can eventually be transferred to them directly once they are at least 13 years old, so they can keep the magic going for themselves!

Doris, I hope this is helpful, and I hope your Family & Friends get to enjoy all of the magic awaiting them this summer at the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any other questions, feel free to come back and let us know!

    Magic and Memories,
    Alison
