My daughter turned 13 and I manage her account. If I share plans with her email, will her tickets, magicbands, and all reservations for her link to her my Disney experience account? Should she create a My Disney Experience account prior to me sending?

Hi there, Louis, and welcome back to planDisney! It looks like you and your daughter are planning a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth this summer, and now that she's 13, she's ready for a little bit of Disney independence! As a mom to a 13-year-old who just took over ownership of her My Disney Experience account, I'm more than happy to walk you through this magical process!

The first step will be to have your daughter create her very own My Disney Experience account with her personal email. Once she has completed this process, you can go to your Family & Friends list to find the account you currently manage for her. From here, you can send an email to connect with her new account, and once she accepts the invitation, she will have ownership of her previously managed account, and all of her plans, MagicBands, tickets, and reservations will be transferred to her account automagically! Now she can view and co-manage her existing plans and also have a little more control of her Disney experiences!

My daughter loved being able to view our PhotoPass memories from her own device, as well as help manage our Disney Genie+ selections and Mobile Food and Beverage Orders on her trip last month (the first trip where she had ownership of her account!) It's a bittersweet day to know we have taught them the way, but I know she's now ready to make even more magical memories for years to come!

One thing I'll share with you is that since your daughter is still under 18, she will not be able to store payment information in her My Disney Experience account, so you will still need to make purchases on her behalf for things like Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. For mobile food orders, she can place her own orders through her account, but she will have to manually enter her payment method for each order. One tip for this is to have her use a Disney gift card; she can store the card number as a note in her phone, and when it's time to order, just copy and paste for a quick checkout on the app!

I hope this is helpful, Louis, and I hope you and your daughter have a fantastic time on your vacation! You might even get to take a plunge on Tiana's Bayou Adventure while you're there; it's set to open sometime this summer! If so, keep an eye out for a jazz-loving alligator who shares your name - he'll be more than happy to show you how dreams do come true in New Orleans!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
