We are really considering joining DVC this summer and I believe we need to pick a "home resort" Do you have any suggestions as to which are best? We are a family of 5, kids are 8,5,3. Do you know where Ko Onina Hawaii is located?

    Hi Michelle,

Welcome Home! This is what you will hear when you check into a Disney Vacation Club property when you become a member. It is such a wonderful thing to hear.

I currently have two home resorts - the Boardwalk and Saratoga. I love the convenience of the Boardwalk as I can quickly get into two parks by walking. Currently, you can have the following as home resorts: Aulani, Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Villas and Saratoga (Treehouses). When choosing a home resort, you need to think about where you will vacation the most. Your home resort allows you to make a reservation at 11 months prior to check in versus seven months at another Disney Vacation property.

When picking a home resort, you want to think about which one do you want to have a preference at. If you plan on spending most of your vacations at the Walt Disney World Resorts, I would pick one of these properties versus Aulani so that you can make a reservation sooner which will fit your needs. If you plan on travelling frequently to Oahu where Aulani is located, then Aulani should be your home.

Of the choices at Walt Disney World, I love Bay Lake Towers for the great location. You can easily get to two parks and it very modern. Animal Kingdom Villas is gorgeous and off the beaten path which makes for a more relaxing vacation.

    Wishing you a magical choice!
