Is it really cheaper to buy the dinning plan, rather than paying for what you eat?

It depends on what you eat!

Is it possible to eat at Disney for less than the price of the Dining Plan? Yes.

Is it possible to see big savings using the Dining Plan? Yes.

For my family, the dining plan makes sense. We like to eat at table service and signature restaurants, and so the standard and Deluxe Dining Plans offer good value for us. (We're not big on fast food so we haven't tried the quick service plan)

A big perk of the dining plan is convenience. You know exactly what you'll be spending in advance, so you won't have to stress over the budget at every meal. You're free to order that filet mignon without a second thought! This often means that you feel you can choose whatever you'd really like, rather than selecting the most budget-friendly option on the menu.

Now, whether that is a good or a bad thing just depends on your personal perspective. For a foodie like me, it's a very good thing!
