I just realized I made a dining reservation for 7pm in the Magic Kingdom, but the park hours are only until 6pm; I did not purchase the special event tickets for that evening; am I still able to use my reservation?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tammy!

I stopped by Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom Park today to find out the answer to your question, and the Cast Member I spoke to said you should be fine to keep that dining reservation even without a ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Although Magic Kingdom Park will close at 6 p.m. that day and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will begin at 7, the hour between is still open for day Guests to complete their dining and shopping experiences (but the only people who will be allowed to enjoy the attractions will be those with a valid ticket and wristband to attend the Christmas Party). As long as you have a ticket to Magic Kingdom Park for that day, you will need to make sure enter the Park no later than 6:45 p.m. If you’re returning to the Park for your dining reservation, you’ll need to enter at the tapstiles on the left side (near the Monorail), and you’ll need to make sure your dining reservation is linked to your My Disney Experience account (since the Cast Members at the entrance will check for it). If you’ve been in the Park for the time prior to your reservation, there is no need to check back in at the front of the Park--simply proceed to the restaurant at the time of your reservation.

My family and I had a dinner reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant on a night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we didn’t finish our meal until after the Party had begun. When we were ready to leave, a Cast Member at the Restaurant escorted us to the front of the Park. I’m not sure if you’ll have the same experience, but you may want to be prepared for it.

I hope you enjoy your dinner at Magic Kingdom Park, Tammy! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
