I read you have to tell the waiter at time of dining if you will be using your dining plan. I will have to pay for 2 meals out-of-pocket. To stretch our $$, which two should it be: B@Crystal Palace, L@Tusker House, D@Mama Melrose or D@ Akershus? Thanks!

    Patricia,

As a general rule, the earlier in the day the meal is, the cheaper it will be. Also character meals cost more than non-character meals.

Judging by recent prices and the meals you have scheduled above, it would be cheapest for you to pay out of pocket for lunch at Tusker House, as adults are $20.99 and children $11.99 (prices from June 2011).

Your second out of pocket meal would probably be breakfast at the Crystal Palace, but depending on what is ordered, could be slightly less expensive at Mama Melrose. To figure out which would be best for you, I recommend visiting Allears.net and looking at the menus in their dining section. They list both entrees and prices, which is very handy when working on a budget.

    Hope that helps!
