Hi I read something about a haunted carriage ride is that a ride in the parks or something special at a resort. Also I would like to go see the animals at animal kingdom lodge with the night vision googles what time do you think we should arrive. Thanks

    Sandy,

The Haunted Carriage Ride is a great Halloween experience that runs in the Fort Wilderness Resort. You do not have to be a resort guest to enjoy this experience, but reservations are recommended. You can call 407-WDW-PLAY (407.939.7529) to make a reservation. The carriage holds 4-5, and the last I heard the cost was just a bit over $60 for the carriage (you don't pay by person, but for the carriage as a whole).

The host of the ride tells the Legend of Sleep Hollow, and it takes about 25 minutes. It runs basically every half hour, from around 7:00 pm to around 10:30 pm. What is nice about that is if you have younger kids you can still go before it is pitch black out.

As for the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and using the night vision goggles, you basically want to go after dark. Obviously the time that the sun sets changes throughout the year, but I would suggest you shoot for at least 30 minutes after sunset, probably an hour afterwards. And if you get there and you don't see them out, ask a cast member.

    Have a magical vacation!
