Welcome aboard, Peter! With only a few weeks left until you set sail, you must be getting pretty excited! There is so much to enjoy on a Disney cruise, including some really fun trading opportunities for different Disney merchandise.
I had never seen Disney Cruise Line trading cards on any of my sailings, so I spoke with one of my friends at Disney Cruise Line who confirmed with the merchandise department that while there were Disney Cruise Line trading cards available years ago, those have been discontinued, so you will no longer find those onboard.
However, my family loves to participate in a couple of other collecting and trading opportunities with Disney, both in the parks and on the ships. My kids love to collect and trade Disney trading pins. You'll find these, along with lanyards, in the gift shops onboard. Buy a few packs of pins, and trade with cast members. My kids love to go on the hunt each cruise, trying to find new pins. Last time, my son was searching for Cars pins, while my daughter wanted any pin with Pluto on it. You'll see Cast Members all around the ship wearing lanyards and they are happy to trade with guests, so don't hesitate to ask! In fact, usually, you'll find that one night onboard, there will be a pin trading event (watch your Personal Navigator for time and location), where the officers will trade pins with guests. We never miss this fun meet-up!
Another fun Disney trading opportunity is with
Vinylmation. These cute 3-inch Mickey shaped characters are decorated like various other characters or places from Disney. There are some adorable cruise-themed Vinylmation. You can trade in the shops onboard too.
I hope that helps as you count down these last few days until you set sail, Peter! Have a wonderful cruise!
