I've read in other sites that sometimes the parks open their turnstiles 30 minutes early even though the rides are closed. Is this true? Mayra

I have been at the Magic Kingdom before during a particularly crowded season when they did start letting people through the entrance turnstiles before the park opening time. There were rope barriers at the end of Main Street, so you couldn't get into the ride areas of the park. I think the idea behind this is to relieve some of the bottleneck at the entrance and keep the crowd agitation level to a minimum. During the half hour of so that Main Street is open but the rest of the park is not, you can shop for souvenirs or get a quick breakfast.

    Hope this answers your question.
