Hi Moms! I read on another site that you can only make advanced dining reservations 90 days in advance instead of 180 days. Is this true? I'm not leaving until May 2009 and planned on eating several character dinners. Just like to plan ahead Thanks Moms :)

Yes, this is true. Disney is transitioning to a 90 day booking window for dining and tours. Beginning on December 23, 2008, guests have only been able to make restaurant reservations for dates 90 days forward. Reservations that have been made for later dates will still be honored, but moving forward the 90 day window will be in effect.

The 90 day booking window was used several years ago. I have to say that I very much preferred the 90 day time frame when making my reservations. For me, it is easier to figure out what I want to do and where I want to eat 3 months in advance rather than 6 months in advance. This is particularly helpful when you have smaller children whose needs and interests are constantly changing. For example, as a preschooler, one of my girls was obsessed with JoJo's Circus, so we made reservations for the Play 'n Dine meal (featuring JoJo) six months in advance. Then a few months later her interest changed and we had to scramble to get new reservations at a different restaurant.

Hope you have a great trip in May!
