I read about a new picnic lunch available at Animal Kingdom on allears.net but can't find any information on the WDW website. Can you point me to the official details on this new offering?

Hi, Ben!  Changes can come fast and furious sometimes at the theme park, and it may take a little bit for the web to be updated, but the Picnic in the Park is now available, and it was wonderful!

My family and I went to Animal Kingdom this week, and thoroughly enjoyed this new dining experience.  When you arrive at the theme park, you go right to the podium to your left to order your meal and book your time.  You have to give at least two hours notice.  There are two tiers for you to choose from.  Tier 1 includes your choice of sandwiches, a side dish, a dessert or piece of fruit, and a bottle of water.  Tier 2 gives you a choice of rotisserie chicken or ham, side dishes (you get 2 with a meal for 3, and more if you order for more people), a dessert or piece of fruit, and a bottle of water.  The picnic comes in a reusable bag, and you pick it up at the Kusafiri Bakery window.

The minimum order is for three adults.  There were four of us - two adults, an eight year old and a four year old - and we had PLENTY of food.  We ordered the chicken, and it was $29.99 for the meal.  We ended up throwing away a piece of the chicken, taking home all three of the desserts, and we snacked on our one side dish - the fruit salad - for a while as we walked around.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with this meal.  For more information, check out www.allears.net.
