Welcome aboard, Vince! I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney. Do you know what I find fascinating? I didn’t realize it was possible for something to feel futuristic, yet nostalgic at the same time—that is, until I stepped aboard the
Disneyland Monorail. It’s been transporting guests from today to
Tomorrowland since 1959!
As you can imagine, even a transportation system that runs on pixie dust needs a little time to recharge. You’re right, Vince—the Disneyland Monorail is taking a quick pit stop to get refreshed for all the excited guests. I peeked at the
Hours & Events Calendar, and it looks like it'll be closed until at least February 18th. That’s the latest date that’s currently available on the calendar. As your visit gets closer, you’ll want to check the Disneyland website or
mobile app for the latest updates. I wish I had better news for you regarding the Monorail reopening date!
The Monorail is an excellent option for getting from Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park to the
Downtown Disney District. But, Vince, there are so many new shops and restaurants that recently opened in Downtown Disney that you may want to walk from one end to the other to explore them all. If you enjoy
Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park, you’ll love
Avengers Reserve, a superhero-themed shop packed with unique merchandise. Or, if apparel is more your style or you’re looking for a perfect gift for your Disney-loving friends, be sure to check out
The D-Lander Shop. Being the foodie I am, I’m most excited about Disney Wonderful World of Sweets that’s scheduled to open this winter! There are so many new things to discover—check out the
Disney Parks Blog for all of the sweet details!
Have the most magical trip, Vince! And don't forget those wise words from the Monorail: “Hold on to the handrails and stay clear of the doors!” Safe travels!
