I have read that MK usually closes due to capacity on NYE. If we go there in the am for an appt at BBB & go back to our hotel for a nap, is there a way to guarantee that we get back in? Or if our appt is later, can we get in even if the park has closed

    Hi Melanie,

There are several stages of limited park access due to crowd capacity issues. Which stage is enacted depends on just how heavy the crowds really are.

During the early stages of crowd control, park entrance will be limited to guests of the WDW hotels and a few other categories. During one of the later stages, park access will only be allowed to guests with dining and BBB reservations. At the final stage of crowd control, absolutely no new guests will be allowed into the park.

To answer your specific question, no, there is no way to guarantee that you'll get back in the park if you leave. Nor is there any guarantee that you'll be able to get in if the park has shut due to capacity issues. I'm sorry, but it really just depends on how many people show up that day.

If you want to ensure your ability view the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom on New Year's Eve, my suggestion would be to arrive at the park early and not leave.
