I have read that guests can sometimes ride a double decker bus or other vintage vehicles on Main Street early in the morning. Is this still available, and what is the best way to experience it during our visit?

Greetings, Marlene! Please allow me to wish you a warm welcome to planDisney where sharing our best tips and tricks for a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation is our specialty. Your trip is just a few weeks away, and pretty soon you'll be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. Inspired by Walt Disney's home town of Marceline, Missouri, that's where you'll be greeted with all the nostalgic sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear's small town America as you make your way into Magic Kingdom Park

I have good news for you. As part of that nostalgia, several different styles of Main Street Vehicles are available for Guests to ride from one end of Main Street to the other, including an omnibus, which some might refer to as a double decker bus. Through the years, I've been lucky enough to ride them all, and I can honestly say my favorite one is whichever one I'm in at that moment. Operating hours can be found in your My Disney Experience Mobile App or on the Walt Disney World website by searching "Main Street Vehicles." Please keep in mind hours are subject to change, especially when there's inclement weather in the area. Also, every vehicle may not be running at all times. If you don't see the one you want, ask one of the friendly Cast Members operating the vehicles if yours is running that day and when you might be able to find it. They are all really neat, though, and make for some awesome photo opportunities.

While you're soaking up the ambiance of Main Street, keep an eye out for all the details. You'll see names in windows in honor of certain Cast Members. I like to take photos of some of the names I don't recognize and read up on them later. Learning the history of their contributions to the Walt Disney Company makes me appreciate the magic that much more. Look for The Dapper Dans, Walt Disney World's version of a barbershop quartet. You might even find a live performance by Casey's Corner Pianist outside of Casey's Corner, a Quick-Service restaurant near the end of Main Street. Stop in the Main Street Confectionary for treats or the Emporium for treasures to take home. And you must not skip out on taking a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad

Marlene, I hope you get to ride one of these vintage vehicles and that your trip is so magical! Please visit us again soon with any other planning questions we can answer for you.

    Let your dreams guide you!
