I read with great enjoyment your review of the Chef's Table at the GF. One of our children is 18 years old and a very, um, "cautious" eater. Do you think that he would be accommodated In the main dining room at V&A's?

    Hi Pamela,

If your son has a medical condition or food allergy, then he would certainly be accommodated in any of the three dining rooms at V&As. If he's just "cautious," that's a bit trickier.

The main dining room at V&As does have a set menu. It changes seasonally, but it is still set for each evening. For each of the seven or so courses, you'll have anywhere from two to five options. If his caution is that he doesn't like peas (or something like that), then they will often be able to work with you on leaving out that particular element. But it's not a situation where they'll make you something totally different for each course.

I have two suggestions: First, give the restaurant a call directly and explain your situation. 407-WDW-DVNA (939-3862). The staff there are truly wonderful. If you're honest about your son's limitations, then I think they'll be honest about whether they can easily accommodate him. If his needs pose a challenge, then you may want to consider booking the Chef's Table. At the Chef's Table, there is no set menu. The chefs will speak to you before you eat about your likes and dislikes. They'll then create a special, unique meal just for you. This may be the best solution if his caution is extreme.

I've now eaten at the Chef's Table, the Queen Victoria Room, and seven times in the main dining room. I simply can't get enough. It's just that good. I hope you have a chance to try it.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
