I've read a few other post, I understand when we check in at the port we leave our luggage and they get brought to our room. What about when we leave, do we take our luggage with us or does it get brought back to the port and we get it from there? Thanks.

    Welcome Aboard, Jennifer!

I am so glad you navigated your way to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your cruising questions! This was something that I was unsure of when I took my first cruise, too.

When you arrive to the cruise terminal, ready to cruise, there are porters who will happily take your luggage onto the ship, where it will magically appear outside your stateroom later in the day. Sometimes this takes until 5pm, so be sure to have anything that you might need in a carry-on bag that stays with you.

On your last evening of your cruise, you will pack up most of your luggage. Your stateroom host will have left luggage tags with a Disney character on them in your room earlier that day. You will need to fill out the tags and put one on each piece of luggage and then place it into the hallway before 11pm. Then, your luggage will meet you once you have disembarked in the morning. Be sure to keep clean clothes for each member of your family, as well as any toiletry items that will be needed. Typically, we keep one of our medium suitcases in the room to pack in the morning.

Then, in the morning, you will carry anything left in your room down with you to one of the main dining rooms. You will have one last meal with your serving team, and then it will be the saddest time of any Disney Cruise Line vacation...time to leave the ship. (My youngest daughter and I almost always cry when we have to leave).

Once you have gotten off the ship, you will claim your luggage and wait in the line to go through customs. There are huge Disney characters that match the luggage tags in this area, to help you locate your bags.

I hope this helps with your cruise planning! Be sure to visit us again with more questions before you set sail!

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
