I read that Festival of The Lion King will be temporarily closing in May. We are visiting with in early November. This is one of our favorite attractions and 2 of our grandchildren have never seen it. Please tell me it will reopen before November. Thanks

    Hi Barbara!

Festival of the Lion King is such a fun and magical show, so I completely understand why you want your grandchildren to experience it!  As of right now, there has not been an official announcement about it closing temporarily or permanently, but you can always keep an eye on the Interactive Park Calendar and the Disney Parks Blog for information about attraction closings and refurbishments throughout the Walt Disney World Resort!

Sometimes, shows and rides need to be refurbished to make sure that everything stays magical and safe for Cast Members and guests, so there is always a chance that any attraction could be temporarily closed during your visit.  That being said, there is currently no official information about that happening for Festival of the Lion King.  Also, due to the popularity of the show, I doubt that it would be closing permanently any time soon.  Of course, if the show ever does close, you can be sure that whatever replaces it will be even more magical and exciting.  You may just get a new favorite show!

While you are visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom, make sure you check out some of the other incredible activities and the brand new show, UP! A Great Bird Adventure!  Even if you can't see your favorite show during your trip, I'm sure that you can find another experience that is just as special and magical for you and your grandchildren!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
