I read on a blog that the monorail is down until further notice. However, I cannot confirm this on any other website that I follow. Can you share any information on this? We have reservations for the Contemporary in May for the use of the monorail. TY

    Hi Susan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You sound like us - active sEARchers of information for all.the.things at Walt Disney World Resort! Rest assured, you will have plenty of transportation options during your trip, even if the Monorail is temporarily out of service.

I just checked with a Cast Member at the Resort, and all is well in Monorail land! That being said, it is a vehicle and all things that run sometimes stop! But, Mickey has a fantastic transportation crew, and if the Monorail does stop running during your vacation, I am sure it will only be for a short time.

One of my twins’ favorite “attraction” is the Monorail, so we love to stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort! Besides the fact that the Monorail runs straight through the hotel, we love that we are a quick 5-minute walk away from Magic Kingdom Park. Walt Disney World also has complimentary bus transportation (with the newer ones equipped with chargers for your phone!), as well as watercraft that can sail you to multiple destinations. My latest favorite form of transport at the ‘World is the brand new Disney Skyliner. It connects four Resorts and two Theme Parks via an incredible gondola system!

One last option - the fantastic Minnie Vans! The polka-dotted beauties will pick you up and drop you off anywhere on the property with the touch of a button. Minnie Vans are uber convenient; we tend to use them after a long day in the Park where we want to get “home”  quickly. You can hail a Minnie Van via the Lyft app.

Susan, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. We are all EARs!
