I read backpacks can’t be larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. Is the 24” long referring to the depth or height? My backpack is 9.85"D x 13"W x 20.47"H and I wasn’t sure if it would be allowed.

    Hi Melissa!

    Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

In Disney’s bag policy, I always think about it as if the backpack is lying down when it comes to the measurements. So in this case, your bag should be allowed since it’s shorter than 24” in length and 18” in height. (It’s good to note that these rules are subject to change at any time without notice.)

What’s even better is that most rides will allow you to keep your backpack with you. I usually just stick my backpack down by my feet with no issues.

There’s one exception, though. And that’s TRON! Just before you get into your ride vehicle, you’ll leave your bag in a locker, and then pick it up as soon as you get off the ride. There are a couple of different sizes of lockers, so you should be able to fit your backpack in a locker without a problem.

If TRON is on your list of priorities, you can join the standby queue on your park day or purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass in advance (which is my personal favorite way to ride!). Just make sure to purchase your Lightning Lane Single Pass as soon as your booking window opens since it’s such a popular ride.
