I just read your answer to a question about DVC reservations. We are DVC members and have only once had trouble getting accommodations at a resort that wasn't our home resort. Can you really be put on a wait list for another resort at the 11 month window?

    Hi Kristi,

Thank you for your question especially because you helped me correct a mistake I made. I am sorry that I did not answer the initial question correctly but I have updated that answer.

For your home resort, you can beginning making a reservation starting at 11 months prior to check in. You can however remind yourself at seven months to call Member Services and have them check availability for the room you would like at another Disney Vacation Club property which is not your home resort. If it is available, the new reservation will be confirmed. If it is not available, you can then be added to the wait list for the resort you would like to vacation at. The wait list request will stay in place up to one week prior to check in. You can use the clock widget on the DVC homepage to remind you when the seven month window is open.

Thank for helping me not look like Goofy and allowing me to address this question again. Many members would like to try all of the resorts so knowing how to book a reservation at another resort is important.

Like you, I only once could not get what I wanted, and in the end, I still had a wonderful vacation!
