Aloha Adam, and welcome to planDisney! Aulani is one of my favorite places, with its celebration of Hawaiian culture and magical Disney touches. And with an action-packed activity schedule, I love that it can be as relaxing or adventurous as you’d like it to be. So let’s talk about the offerings during your upcoming trip!
The activities at Aulani are always changing to make way for exciting new things. While the two you mentioned are no longer running, I thought I might share some other offerings you might be interested in.
Thingamabobs - A Mermaid’s Tale isn’t part of the current activity schedule, but there are lots of other fun things that your whole family can do together. My nephew loved the Shake-A-Shaka Pool Party, where we learned about surf culture, danced, played games, and even met some Disney pals. And if you’re looking to channel your creative side, you might like the Craft Activity Center, Family Fun Animation, or the ‘Ohana Ho’okani Pila ‘ukulele lessons, which are offered a few times throughout the week. These activities are complimentary, but Family Fun Animation and the ‘ukulele lessons require an advance reservation.
Now, to answer your second question about Mo’olelo Fire Pit Storytelling. I just chatted with Uncle and he let me know that Moana used to make an appearance during his storytelling sessions, but she’s been too busy exploring the ocean to stop by recently. It's still one of my must-dos when I'm at Aulani because I could listen to Uncle tell stories all day! You can also still find our favorite voyager during Moana's meet and greets, as well as at Kakamora Chaos with Moana, a premium activity at
Aunty's Beach House.
Offerings through the
Pau Hana Room, like Family Fun Animation and ‘Ohana Ho’okani Pila, and kids club sessions at Aunty’s Beach House can currently be booked 45 days in advance. Be sure to make your reservations as soon as your booking window opens since these activities are popular and usually fill quickly!
I also recommend downloading the
Aulani Resort app so you don’t miss any of these fun activities during your vacation. When you open the app, press the Aulani icon towards the bottom of the screen to see the schedule (I find it easiest to press View List so you can scroll through everything). When you go into a specific activity, you can press Add to Plans which will add it to a list where you can see everything you want to attend. Keep in mind that character meet and greets aren’t added to the schedule until the morning of each day (in my experience, it’s usually between 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M.).
I’m wishing you a magical visit to Aulani this September! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome here at planDisney.
