Get ready to be digitized, Joanne, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting to be at
Walt Disney World Resort on this gorgeous day. You sound like a seasoned planner, so let's look at how you can experience
TRON Lightcycle / Run today.
Congratulations on snagging a boarding group this morning. If you'd wanted an early time, you would have been group 200! Isn't that just how things work? But never fear. I have some tips to help you race for Team Blue.
I had a similar situation recently when I secured an early boarding group for myself and my husband using the first
virtual queue. Unfortunately, he had to take a last-minute work call, which would have made us miss our boarding group window. I chatted with a friendly Cast Member at the attraction who advised me to let our boarding groups expire without scanning in. That way, we'd be able to join the 1:00 PM queue. The happy ending was that I was able to join, and we rode after dark which was thrilling!
My tip is to see when your boarding group is called because you'll have an hour to return. I've heard there's a little leeway, so if you're a few minutes late, you should be fine to scan in. If you miss that window because of your delicious meal at
Olivia's Cafe, your boarding group will expire. Since you never scanned in, you should be able to join the 1:00 PM queue.
Remember that everyone in your party must be scanned in at
Magic Kingdom Park to join the afternoon virtual queue. I always open my mobile app about 10 minutes before to make sure I'm signed in and can select my party. I have my husband watch the secondhand so I can tap the "Refresh" button at 1:00 PM sharp. I'm wishing on a Light Disc that you pull a fabulous boarding group and beat Team Orange!
Joanne, I hope you have a magical time during your visit. While they say, "End of line," in the world of TRON, it's never too late to
stop by planDisney with questions!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
