Welcome aboard, Valerie!
When my family and I sail with
Disney Cruise Line, we are always overly impressed with the level of service and attention to detail we receive from every single Cast Member we encounter. That high level of personalized service is part of the reason
why we sail with Disney! So, while there is a suggested gratuity amount per day, per guest, for certain Cast Members, we usually add a bit more for each of them since they truly make our cruise even more magical than we'd think possible.
It is possible to pre-pay your gratuities before you set sail, using the traditional amount suggested, or you may have them charged automatically toward the end of your sailing. I understand that tipping is a personal preference, and tips are never required, nor is the traditional amount something to which you must adhere. Should you decide to tip a different amount, you may either add extra cash if you're tipping more, to the little tip envelopes you'll receive on the last night of the sailing, which include a receipt for the traditional amount that is charged to your stateroom. Or, you may go to
Guest Services and request a different amount be charged to your stateroom. This can be done overall for all the
Cast Members traditionally tipped, or for certain ones. It's totally up to you, and you have complete control of that simply by stopping in at Guest Services to confirm the amount you'd like applied. Should they not hear otherwise from you, the traditional gratuities will automatically be charged.
I hope that helps as you plan and budget for this exciting and magical adventure at sea, Valerie! Have so much fun planning and please do stop back again with more questions. We're happy to help!
