Hello there, Linda!
So nice to "sea" you here at planDisney. I'm already thinking about my
packing list for my family's upcoming
Disney Cruise Line sailing so I'm glad to help as you make your travel preparations.
I know diapers are an absolutely essential item, but they do take up a lot of valuable real estate in luggage, especially when considering baggage fees associated with travel. I remember the days of traveling with little ones in tow, so I can certainly appreciate the situation. I reached out to a Cast Member to ask if guests are able to ship items in advance of their sailing, but unfortunately, that isn't an option at this time. You'll need to pack everything in your checked luggage to be delivered to your
Stateroom after boarding, but you are welcome to carry on additional bags you'd like to keep access to during that first day on the ship as well.
Diapers and other baby items are available for purchase in the shops onboard, but if you'd like to guarantee a particular brand or size I'd look into making a quick stop at a local retailer before you head to the Cruise Terminal. You can purchase to carry on just before you board the ship instead of flying with them. This way, you'll be able to save that space in your suitcase for more wardrobe options. I always like having an extra change of clothes for each day in case of accidental spills, or unexpected weather. It's saved us more often than I'd like to admit.
If you do decide to play luggage Tetris and pack diapers in your checked bags, you'll luckily free up space as you use your supply. This is the perfect space to pack souvenirs purchased on your sailing for the return trip back home!
Linda, I hope this helped. Please sail back to us with more planning questions. You can also contact
Guest Services via email or phone if you need additional assistance.
Wishing you fair winds and following seas,
Amy
