Hi Moms! I had a question about runDisney. Will the characters on the courses be able to sign autographs during a race? Thanks!

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Miller.

If you’ve never experienced a runDisney event, you are in for a treat! I participated in my first race almost four years ago and have since run seven of them. There aren’t many things in this world that I’m willing to get up at 3 a.m. for, but a runDisney event is definitely one of them!

You will see and have the opportunity to meet lots of Characters along your route, but since there will be thousands of other runners looking to do the same, the Characters will only have time to pose for a quick picture with you. While you will see some official Disney PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the course, most of the Character stops along the way will require you to use your own camera for the photos. So make sure you have your phone fully charged before the race and that you keep it in an easily-accessible spot so you can get to it quickly.

Speaking of those PhotoPass photographers, though--did you know that if you’ve purchased Memory Maker for your Walt Disney World Resort “runcation” that your runDisney race photos are included at no additional charge? Check out the digital event guide (which you should receive via email before the race weekend) for details about how to link your runDisney bib number to your My Disney Experience account/ Memory Maker purchase.

Enjoy your race, Miller, and we’ll see you at the finish line!
