Caroline, I hEAR you're considering signing up for a runDisney race at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Whether you're a first-timer or a veteran marathoner, these races are so fun, you almost forget you're running! RunDisney events offer so much entertainment along the way, that the miles will literally feel like they are flying by.
There are four main race weekends at Walt Disney World Resort, and the great news is that they will all take you through Epcot. My favorite race is the Disney Princess Enchanted 10K, which is the same route as the 10K during Marathon Weekend. You'll start in the Epcot parking lot, and do some highway running before entering the World Showcase around mile 3.5. The reason I enjoy this race is the fact that it also goes along Disney's BoardWalk before reentering Epcot at the International Gateway around mile 5, and I love hearing those cowbells and cheers from Guests!
The course for the Star Wars Rival Run 10K hasn't been announced yet, but in 2018 it took runners from the TTC to Hollywood Studios before entering Epcot for the last mile of the race. The Disney Wine & Dine 10K course has changed a bit, but in 2018 it started at the TTC parking lot and entered Epcot for a two mile run around World Showcase and Future World. If you're looking to spend some time at the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival, this is the way to go!
If it is your dream come true to run through Cinderella Castle, you'll need to sign up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon or the Half Marathon during Marathon Race Weekend. It's a few extra miles, but running through the Magic Kingdom is a once in a lifetime experience!
Caroline, remember these races are popular and can sell out quickly, so visit the
runDisney website for more information. I know you'll be excited to lace up your sneakers and start training!
