Hi moms! Question regarding Animal Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.. My main interest is seeing the animals—more than the rides or anything else. Any suggestions to maximize animal viewing—where to stay; what to do? Thanks!

Hello there, Yvonne! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop by and ask your Walt Disney World Resort question!

As a massive animal lover myself, I am a huge fan of both Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! Whenever I visit Walt Disney World Resort, I always make a point to schedule time visiting both locations and take time to view the animals

I would strongly recommend any other fellow animal lovers stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Resort during their vacation! This Disney Resort hotel offers many rooms with views of their massive savannas that over 200 hooves animals and birds call home. Even the rooms that do not directly overlook the savannas are just a short walk from viewing areas that you can sit and watch the animals from. There are also two different safari experiences you can book at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge! The Wanyama Safari is a private safari experience that takes place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and includes dinner at Jiko - The Cooking Place. The Starlight Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge takes Guests on a nighttime safari so they can get a better look at what the animals are up to after nightfall!

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I would recommend taking a stroll through the two wildlife trails located in the park! The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail includes wildlife native to Africa while the Maharajah Jungle Trek is home to a variety of species that are indigenous to Asia. Both of these experiences are an excellent way to view many different types of wildlife during your day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Have fun exploring during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
