Aloha, Victoria! Welcome back to planDisney!
I'm sure you're getting very excited about your upcoming stay at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows! Here, the Cast Members go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, and they consider everyone a "cousin." The relaxed South Pacific vibe is why this resort is a fan favorite. However, there are a couple of other important reasons why this Disney Vacation Club property should be at the top of any vacationer's bucket list! At 465 square feet, the Deluxe Studios at the Polynesian are the largest DVC studios on property. Another great thing about these studios is that they feature a full bathroom with toilet, sink, and tub/shower combo PLUS an additional bathroom area with a walk-in shower and sink. This mom of three kiddos can tell you how important that is when everyone is getting ready for rope drop in the morning!
Having a "Home Base with Extra Space" makes a trip Disney so much easier. Unlike a traditional hotel room, the Studios have kitchenettes, which is great for preparing light breakfasts or snacks. I spoke to a Disney Vacation Club Cast Member today who was able to verify with the resort that refrigerators in the Deluxe Studios
do not have a freezer section. One tip is to put food or water bottles that you want frozen back against the mini-fridge's cooling coils and put a baggie of ice against the other side (door side) of the food; ice machines are conveniently located on each floor of every longhouse.
On the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House,
Moana Mercantile sells a small selection of groceries, alcohol, beverages, toiletries, and Disney merchandise. I've found Disney Resort Gift Shops very helpful in a pinch when I've needed over the counter medication, but they do not sell Lysol product in my recollection. I always pack travel-sized cans of Lysol that I find at my local grocery store. To keep guests safe, Walt Disney World Resort's
Mousekeeping Cast Members will do an enhanced cleaning of every room before arrival, with particular attention given to high-touch areas. Be sure to check out the
Disney Resort Hotels: Know Before You Go page for details on updated procedures before your vacation.
I hope this helps, Victoria! If there's anything else you need, remember we're all
ears!
