Question about Picnic in Park - it sounds as though meals serve 3 people, therefore you must use 3QS credits on DDP? Just my hubby and I - any way to get a meal for just 2 so we don't have to use 3 credits? Thanks so much, I read the panel everyday!

Hi, Jennifer!  The Picnic in the Park currently only offers meals starting for three people, requiring three credits from the dining plan.  I am not sure what the rationale behind this is, as the Picnic in the Park could be a wonderful and romantic addition to any couple's Walt Disney World vacation.

What I have suggested to friends that recently visited Walt Disney World is that they skip breakfast that morning so they will be a bit hungrier when they have the picnic, then get desserts or side dishes that you can carry around to snack on later in the day.  You can get the sandwiches, and split the third one, getting individual bags of chips that you can throw in your bag for later.  Another side dish that will hold up for part of the day is the fruit salad.  Most of the desserts - especially the whole fruit - can be eaten later on.

This may not be an option for everyone, but I did meet a couple on my last trip who met another couple in line while ordering their picnic, and the two couples decided to share a picnic for four people.  You may find another couple that would be willing to do this.

As a last resort, you could always invite a friend (or Walt Disney World Moms Panel Member!!) to join you for your picnic!  See if anyone you know might be traveling the same time you are and be interested in sharing the meal.

I hope you have a wonderful time, and I do hope you get to enjoy the picnic!
