Hi Debbie! My husband and son played golf at
Oak Trail on our Disney vacation just a few weeks ago. My son received free club rental, but my husband had to pay to rent his. (The cost was approximately $15, but of course, prices are always subject to change.) Since your children can use clubs at no cost, there's no need to share. (Adults, however, won't be allowed to share the clubs with the kids; they're required to rent their own.)
No experience is required to play golf on this family-friendly walking course, but I asked my husband and son whether it would be a good course for kids to try playing golf the first time, and they said they wouldn't recommend it. They're experienced golfers, but they found walking this course in June to be quite hot and tiring, and they lost a lot of balls in the water and the woods. (By the way, if your kids do want to play golf there, bring your own balls. Although the club rental is quite reasonable, the balls were somewhat expensive, roughly $25 for 15, if we remember correctly.) If you're visiting during a cooler month, your kids might enjoy trying golf at Oak Trail, but if you're visiting during warmer months, I think they'd have more fun using their Water Park & More Options at DisneyQuest and the water parks, since they're not avid golfers.
