Ahoy, Jennifer!
I'm so glad you sailed back over with another great question about your upcoming
Very Merrytime Cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line! I was so excited when Disney Cruise Line created the Navigator app to use while at sea. It has really come in handy for my crew when we've sailed the last couple of years. Currently, it requires iOS 8.0 or later for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch (4.0.3 for Android devices). So if someone in your party has an iPod touch they can go ahead and download the app for free to use onboard. It works as a cruise countdown until you connect to the DCL-Guest Wi-Fi on the ship while the device is in "Airplane Mode."
There is no charge to use the app during your cruise, and it has some pretty magical features for you to enjoy. First, you will be able to text other Guests who also have the app downloaded. You can chat one-on-one or in a group, and you'll love the Disney-themed emojis available! Other features include having all the activities and events at your fingertips, the nightly dinner menus and the deck plans. It really does help me and my family not miss out on any of the fun onboard! I always preview what's for dinner each evening so I can have more time to think about all the delicious choices.
Jennifer, if you haven't already, download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your family's mobile devices so the countdown to December can begin. You'll love watching the days go from triple digits to double to singles! It will fly by! And please let us know if you have any other planning questions.
