Welcome back, Amanda! You are really going to love every magical moment of your cruise onboard the
Disney Dream! I can tell that you're a planner like me, who enjoys finding out everything you can about what to expect along with lots of fun tips! So, welcome aboard!
You can absolutely decorate your stateroom door with magnets, as the doors are all metal (unless you're in Concierge which has wooden doors). In fact, it's a really popular thing for guests to do! You'll see all sorts of creative magnets that guests make at home and bring onboard! I love the magnets that make the porthole room number on the door look like part of a Disney character. My family likes to make special magnets with the sail date on them, so we can add to our stateroom door magnet collection each sailing. You'll see all sorts of creative doors as you walk down the hallways, Amanda!
One tip about making your own magnets though. If you purchase printable magnetic sheets that you'll run through your home printer, be sure you get a heavy-weight kind. We learned that the hard way when I purchased a cheaper flimsy magnetic paper and the beautiful magnets I made kept falling off the door. Or just print on regular paper, laminate it, then put magnets on the back. You've got lots of do-it-yourself options! Check out some great artists on Esty who create and sell personalized Disney stateroom door magnets if you're not up for creating your own!
Be sure to check out the details on
rules about door decorations, because magnets are allowed but adhesives are prohibited.
Either way, you'll be happy to decorate your door, creating a little bit more magic to an already amazing experience onboard. Plus, it's always nice to be able to pick out your door more easily in the halls!
Have fun crafting, Amanda!
