Hi, my question is on gratuities. I read online the recommended is $4 per day for dining room server,$3 per day assistant server;$1per day had server, & $4 per day room Steward. This totals $12 per day. Is this $12per person or per family? We are a fam

Welcome aboard, Sandra! You must have an exciting cruise coming up with Disney Cruise Line! Well, you are in for a real treat. You will encounter so much magic onboard the ship, and much of this magic comes from the Cast Members onboard who continually go above and beyond to serve their guests.

You are correct on the traditional tipping amounts. These amounts are per person (including children) per day. So, if you are a family of four, you can expect to pay $48 per day in tips. Gratuities are normally given on the last evening or final morning of your sailing. The night before you disembark, you'll receive tip envelopes in your stateroom and slips showing the tip amounts charged to your onboard account. Alternatively, you can let Guest Services know if you prefer to tip in cash, and simply put that in the envelopes instead. Then, hand them to those special Cast Members who served you throughout your sailing.

One other way to pay the tips is to prepay before you sail. Many guests like to do this by calling Disney Cruise Line at 1-800-951-3532. This way, they have their set expenses paid before they even set sail. We always like to wait until the end of the cruise because most of the time we like to add a bit extra for those Cast Members who really were wonderful to our family (and usually that is all of them)!

I hope those details help as you continue to plan your Disney cruise, Sandra. I'm happy to help with other questions before you set sail, so don't hesitate to stop back!
