Question #1: Is The Grand Floridian constructing their gingerbread house in the lobby this year for Christmas? And if so, what dates? Question #2: Is Disney going to release meal plans??

    Hi Dani,

I know it's only March, but just thinking about the holidays at The Most Magical Place on Earth makes me want to turn on some Christmas music and pull out all of my Disney ornaments again! Christmastime is my absolute favorite time of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort, and I just know that you're going to return home after your trip with so many magical memories and hearts full of JOY!

While my family missed the incredible gingerbread displays at the Disney Resort hotels last December, I'm happy to share that they were all still decked out in gorgeous decorations and the feeling of Christmas was still very much present. It's too early to know if we'll be able to enjoy walking into the lobby and being wrapped in the aroma of gingerbread this year, but I'd encourage you to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements of how Christmas magic will come alive at the Disney Resort hotels this year. I'm wishing on a star that our gingerbread dreams will be able to come true, but I'm confident that the beauty of the season will be there no matter what.

As far as the Disney Dining Plans go, unfortunately we don't know yet when we'll be able to purchase and use them again. While we're waiting for news of their return, I do have another idea for you in case that doesn't occur in time for your visit. Why not purchase Disney Gift Cards in the amount you would have spent on a Disney Dining Plan? You still have the benefit of prepaying for your meals, and it's easy peasy to check their balance online during your trip if need be!

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, Dani, and please come back and see us again as you're thinking through the details of your trip. I hope you have a truly magical vacation this holiday season!
