Hi there, Mary, and welcome back to planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with your question and it would be my pleasure to help you before your visit to the Disneyland Resort later this summer! I'm excited that you'll get to see Walt Disney's original Park. There's definitely something special knowing that he had direct involvement in the Park's development and many of the attractions that are still there today.
Radiator Springs Racers is one of the most exciting attractions at Disney California Adventure and well worth the experience! This attraction does fall under an
Individual Lightning Lane so you may indeed purchase this Lightning Lane separately as it is not included with the purchase of
Genie+ and you do not need to have purchased Genie+ in order to get it. I know you're going to enjoy the phenomenal level of immersion in this attraction as you drive into Radiator Springs and then race through the Cadillac Mountain Range! There is also a
Single Rider Line which is another great way to bypass the standby queue.
Now let's shift our focus to New Orleans Square, a land that was dedicated by Walt Disney himself and the mayor of New Orleans on July 24, 1966. Within that land, the
Haunted Mansion has been delighting Guests for over 50 years, forever inviting them to be the newest addition to the 999 Happy Haunts already there. This attraction has been closed for a major
Grounds Expansion which is predicted to open in 2024 but no opening date has been announced yet. I would recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog to keep up on the latest news. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get to experience this iconic attraction on your visit!
Mary, I hope this was helpful for you. I appreciated the chance to talk about two of my favorite Disney attractions! Please feel free to write back to us again if you have more questions. You're always welcome at planDisney and we love hearing from you! Happy planning!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
