Aw, shucks, Vanessa! Mickey and I are sad to hear that you won't be able to visit Disneyland Resort with your friends. However, the planDisney Panel appreciates you bringing your question to us. I'm happy to help!
The good news is that you do not need to cancel your theme park ticket; however, you can cancel your existing park reservations and book new park reservations for a different date for the same ticket. I spoke with
Ticket Services today, and they assured me that in doing this, you would not modify your friends' reservations in the process of changing yours. I do suggest having your friend who purchased the tickets do this for you.
The easiest way for her to do this is through the
Disneyland website. She'll log into her account, select My Disneyland from the main menu, and click Ticket and Reservation Details. Next, choose View My Park Reservations, and click Cancel Reservation. A new screen will appear that will allow her to select which ticket to remove. Then, as long as the ticket is linked to your Disneyland account, you'll then be able to book a brand new theme park reservation for yourself through the
Theme Park Tickets & Reservations webpage.
There are two things for you to keep in mind before you rebook those theme park reservations, though:
1) Make sure your new date is in the same tier if you have a
one-day ticket (or the new date is in a lower tier). However, if you have a multi-day ticket, you will not need to worry about the ticket tiers.
2) There are park reservations still available. To ensure availability for your ticket type on your desired day, I recommend checking the
Availability Calendar before rebooking.
I hope this helps, Vanessa! If you have any other questions before your next trip, remember we're all ears!
