I have a question about the extra park hours. I noticed a couple parks are open till midnight during our stay. Is late night a better time to be at the park? Or is there more to do during the day?

    Hi Jennifer,

Extra Magic Hours are always a subject of discussion as the park offering the extra time does tend to be quite crowded however there are still great ways to enjoy this added time.

Our family is full of night owls, so we really enjoy being able to stay out an play after others have turned in for the night. The parks do have a tendency to be a little more crowded for that first hour or so, but if you are willing (and able) to stay until park close, we have found that the lines are typically quite short and can often get on a great number of attractions in a short period of time. Almost all attractions at the parks remain open during Extra Magic Hours and most shows are also offered. There are a few exceptions, but typically anything you can enjoy during the day, can be enjoyed in the evening.

I was just at Magic Kingdom with my two younger boys a few weeks ago and we were able to enjoy eight different attractions at Magic Kingdom is just a little over an hour during the evening extra magic hours. Another great thing about the late hours, is the temperatures are more comfortable and the hot Florida sun is not wiping out your energy level.

Our rule of thumb is we do not rely on the evening Extra Magic Hours to accomplish everything on our list and use that time as bonus park time. If the crowds stay heavy and the lines long, we leave or just walk around, however usually it is a great time to get in another spin or two on your favorite attraction.
