Who is qualified for a disability access pass and if one person in the group has it do all in the group have the same pass attached?

    Hi Lindsay,

Disney World has done an excellent job of revamping its Services for Guests With Disabilities. The new updates offer different accommodations depending on each guest's specific needs. I highly recommend reviewing the Accessibility Planning Guide and Recommendations before your visit for comprehensive information on the available services.

Disability Access Service (DAS) is specifically geared towards guests who due to a developmental disability like autism or similar disorder, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. Qualification for this service is determined through a video chat with a cast member. The chat is a simple process where you will explain why the member of your party can not wait in line and they will determine if that is a covered reason. You can do this chat up to 30 days before your vacation begins but make sure that the qualifying guest is with you when you go through the chat process. They will snap a picture of the qualified guest during the chat and set everything up for your party. This service can only be used for a qualified guest and up to 3 family members.

Once you are all set up, you will utilize the My Disney Experience app to request return times throughout your visit to Walt Disney World. In the My Disney Experience app, tap on the menu (≡) option at the bottom of the screen and select the DAS button. Here you will choose an attraction and receive a return time equal to the current wait time for that ride. The guest that is registered for DAS must be present, and be one of the members of your party that is accessing the attraction queue when you redeem each DAS return time. You will only be able to hold one return time and once you redeem your return time, you will need to wait about 10 minutes before you reserve another one.

Enjoy your visit, and if you have any more questions about navigating the theme parks with a disability, feel free to come back and ask!

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
