Hello Marita, and welcome to planDisney!
I read your question and just had to claim it! When I'm not answering Guest questions, I work as a small animal veterinarian and therefore am an animal lover like yourself. I think it's so sweet and compassionate that you are caring for your quadriplegic furry family member and that you take him wherever you can.
I wish I had a more magical answer for you, but the
Disneyland Resort Policy on pets states that, unless your pet is classified as a
Service Animal, they will not be allowed on property despite being confined to a stroller. That doesn't mean that you have to leave him home, however. There are plenty of
Good Neighbor Hotels that are Pet Friendly and will allow you to leave him in your hotel room while you visit the Parks.
I've treated many paraplegic and quadriplegic animals and I know how much work and dedication it takes on the part of the owner, so I truly commend you for your commitment to your companion. Why not reward him with a souvenir from the Parks? I feed my Golden Retriever out of a bowl that states "Feed Me, Foolish Mortal!" on top of a Haunted Mansion themed placemat. I also have a caricature of her that the artist just outside the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean created and it's one of my favorite portraits of her! If that interests you, bring a couple of pictures of your pet from different angles to the Cast Member artist there and they'll take care of the rest!
Marita, that might not have been the answer for which you were hoping, but I am wishing that you and your companion will be able to enjoy a trip together and that you'll make some magical memories in the Parks and bring a special little something for back for him. Finally, if you ever find yourself in the Bay Area, the Walt Disney Family Museum is currently holding a Special Exhibition for
Disney Cats & Dogs which might be right up your alley!
If you have anything else you'd like to ask us, please feel free to come back anytime! You're always welcome at planDisney and we'd love to see you again sometime!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
