Q-split stay and dining plan. When does the 1st expire? When I check out of the 1st resort? When I check in at the 2nd resort? Or the midnight on the day I checked out the 1st? I am moving from BWV to BLT and want to do Chef Mickey on the moving day. TIA!

    Howdy Diana,

Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Oooh Boy, do I love a split stay! One way that Walt Disney World Resort makes every single vacation a different experience for our family is the wide range of themes, styles, and ambience of each of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. So I love that with the freedom and flexibility of DVC, we can enjoy part of our family vacation watching Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from our large, private balcony in our Villa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort and end our trip watching giraffes dine on some tasty leaves from our African-inspired accommodations at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. I think you are going to love it!

When you use the Disney Dining Plan for both reservations of your split-stay, your entitlements for your first reservation are available until midnight of the day that you change Resort Hotels. On that day, you will also have access to the entitlements from your second reservation. While I don't believe it is absolutely necessary, I was advised by a Cast Member to use two different MagicBands for these two reservations only under this circumstance. It really helps the computer system - and you - to keep everything straight. It also makes using credits easier since you will not need to explain which entitlements you are specifically aiming to use with each purchase on that overlapping day.

Please come back and visit us with any other questions, Diana! The Disney Parks Moms Panel is here to help!

    Wishing you many magical memories,

    Sally
