Can i put a visa gift card as a form of payment on my room account in order to make purchases, and pay the balance on my room etc.

Hi there, Nina! Thanks for stopping by planDisney! It sounds like you have a magical trip just around the corner... how exciting! It really is the final countdown!

It sounds like you’re referring to the Disney Visa Rewards Redemption Card, which holds the reward dollars you’ve earned through your Disney Visa Card. I actually used mine on my last visit to Walt Disney World, and it was easy peasy! You can absolutely use your Disney Rewards Redemption Card to make purchases at participating retail and dining locations throughout the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. Simply present your physical card at checkout or to your server at any Walt Disney World table service location (I used mine for a little splurge at California Grill on my last trip, and it was totally worth it!).

if you’re using the My Disney Experience app, you can add it as a payment method for Mobile Ordering. Just tap the three stacked lines in the bottom right corner, then go to Profile > Payment Method > + Add a Payment Method, and select Disney Rewards Redemption Card and enter your 16-digit card number. It's really nice if you're planning to hit some of the Global Marketplace booths during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!

You can also add it during a purchase in the app by selecting Payment > + Add a Payment Method > Disney Rewards Redemption Card. This is how I paid for my Lightning Lane selections. It’s a great way to treat yourself without dipping into your main budget!

Now, when it comes to your Disney Resort hotel room account, things work a bit differently. You can’t link a Disney Rewards Redemption Card directly to your room to cover charges automatically. You’ll need to have a traditional credit or debit card on file for your room guarantee, but you can stop by the Front Desk before checkout to pay down your room balance using your Disney Rewards Redemption Card. Just be sure to do this the day before you check out, since Disney typically charges the card on file overnight before your departure.

And here’s a little bonus tip: if you plan to visit again (which I’m sure you will), you can reload your existing Redemption Card with more Disney Rewards Dollars by logging into DisneyRewards.com. Once logged in, click “Manage My Rewards Dollars” and select your card to add more funds.

I hope this helps clear things up, Nina! Wishing you a pixie-dusted stay filled with a few guilt-free splurges of your own.

    See ya real soon!
