Can I put in a special request for a microwave in my room? One of my children has special dietary needs

Hiya Genetrice! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

It looks like your magical vacation is just days away! Oh boy! Before you know it, you'll be fully immersed in the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort. And all I can say is.. Hakuna Matata! Leave those worries at home because it is time to let loose and enjoy your fairytale vacation!

But, since you're not quite there yet, it is great that you're asking all your questions now! It may be reassuring to know that many rooms already come equipped with a microwave. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and the Family Suites at Disney's Art of Animation Resort are two of these options, as well as any 1, 2 or 3-bedroom villas on property. If you've booked one of these, you have nothing left to do!

If you're staying at a Disney Resort Hotel that is not listed above, I'd suggest calling a Cast Member at Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to request a microwave in your room. Cast Members go above and beyond to accommodate requests like these. However, it is not guaranteed. If they are unable to accommodate your request, they will likely be able to provide you with alternative options, such as using the microwave or other heating solutions in common areas within the hotel or sharing which menu options within the hotel would be suitable for your child's needs.

Walt Disney World is known as The Most Magical Place on Earth for a reason.. and part of that is the special care they take to accommodate the needs of every Guest. Food allergies and dietary restrictions are a top priority and I think you'll be pleased with all the extra efforts provided for these situations. Just a few weeks ago, I was dining at Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. A Guest at the table next to me told the Cast Member about her dietary restrictions and the chef (not Mickey, but the other one), came out to talk with her directly about how he could help to provide her with a magical meal!

One of my fellow panelists, Donyell, has children with food allergies and does a great job at helping other Guests navigate Walt Disney World without missing a bit of the fun!

I hope this helps answer your question today, Genetrice!

    Have a magical day,
