When purchasing a single day ticket for the High School Nationals cheer competition next weekend at ESPN, can I leave & re-enter ESPN throughout the day? My cheerleader has performs in the morning and late in the evening. I will not have a park ticket.

    Hello Brandy!

We're so glad to see you back at planDisney. How exciting that your cheerleader will be taking the mat at the National High School Cheerleading Championship next weekend at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. As someone with less than competition-worthy athletic ability, I'm always so impressed by the skill and dedication showcased at these events!

This upcoming event is hosted by Varsity Spirit and does require admission for entry. I've spent more than my fair share of hours cheering on my daughter at local dance competitions, so I can understand not wanting to spend a full day sitting there between your cheerleader's scheduled events. I reached out to a Cast Member via chat who stated that, "as far as we know about the Varsity competitions, they can go in and out. But this is an event separate from Walt Disney World Resort, so they would want to reach out when they go through the gates to ask."

Thankfully, my panel pal Alison is well-versed in all things dance and cheer and shared that re-entry is typically permitted throughout the day. You should be able to cheer along your athlete, head out to enjoy a meal or other non-park activity around Walt Disney World Resort, and then return later in the day for the remainder of the competition. I would confirm with the event staff that day just to be sure nothing has changed, but I'm hopeful you can get out and explore.

Disney Springs has an endless variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options to enjoy if you're looking to fill a few hours. I usually grab a glass of wine at Wine Bar George or a cookie (or two or three) from Gideon's Bakehouse. From there, you could also board a complimentary bus to one of the resorts and spend some time soaking up the magical details. I especially like visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to watch the animals roam the savanna. It's a peaceful and quiet way to spend the afternoon (which you might appreciate after an arena full of cheers).

I hope this helped, Brandy. If we can answer any additional questions, please cartwheel right back to planDisney and let us know. We're always here (like a good stunt spotter) to lend our support.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
