Hello, Angela, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Although my family and I have been taking Walt Disney World Resort vacations for the last seven years, we just added the Water Parks to our Annual Passes last year. We absolutely love both
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, but I think if it were just my husband and I (and we only had to choose one Park), we'd opt to spend a single day at Typhoon Lagoon.
While both Water Parks offer fun for the whole family, the
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is an amazing experience. With waves cresting up to six feet, it's an extraordinary feeling to have the pull of the ocean right in the middle of a Water Park. My 9-year-old daughter loves it, too, but we discovered last summer that the waves are a little too powerful for her and seem better suited for stronger swimmers. You can also embark on a journey through Miss Adventure Falls, enjoy the thrill of plummeting down one of three slides at the Crush 'n' Gusher, or try the three "Falls": Mayday, Gangplank and Keelhaul. (Our favorite is the Gangplank Falls.) And if you'd just rather relax and let your troubles float away, you'll definitely enjoy Castaway Creek.
The water temperature is maintained at a consistent 82 degrees, so you can still enjoy the Water Parks when it starts to turn cool. Florida in November is rather unpredictable, though. There have been Thanksgivings where we've been in tank tops and flip flops and others where we've been in jeans and sweatshirts. So bring your bathing suits and water shoes and I'll cross my fingers that you get to enjoy some fun in the sun in November.
We'll see you real soon!
Amy
