We have purchased a vacation package with tickets for 2 days. Part of our family would like to add on extra days. Would it be possible to add on days once we get there, just for the family members who want to go longer?

    Hello Megan,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! I’d be delighted to help you navigate this. Walt Disney World Vacation Packages are such a convenient way to bundle your magical stay—combining your Disney Resort hotel room, tickets, and sometimes even a dining plan. It’s like tying all the pixie dust into one perfect package—what’s not to love?

That said, there are some important details to keep in mind when it comes to modifying packages. When you book a room-and-ticket vacation package, all guests on the reservation must have the same package features, including ticket type and duration of your resort hotel stay. This means if you want to add extra days to the tickets, the change would apply to everyone listed on the reservation.

The good news? Adding just one or two extra days often isn’t much more expensive for everyone since ticket prices decrease per day as you extend your visit. As Disney likes to say, “The longer you play, the less you pay per day!” Since your trip is currently planned as a two-day stay, you may want to explore Disney’s special promotions. For example, depending on your travel dates, Disney is offering a FREE dining plan when you book a 3-night/3-day vacation package (subject to availability). It might be worth doing a little number crunching to see if modifying your entire reservation could save you money while adding even more magic to your vacation!

If it still makes sense for only a few members of your group to stay longer, here’s another option: They can book an additional separate reservation. The minimum length of a new vacation package is one night and a two-day ticket, but this could work depending on how many extra days you’re considering. Alternatively, they could purchase additional park tickets separately and book a “room-only” hotel reservation for the extra days.

I know this is a lot to take in, Megan, but I hope this information helps clarify your options. If you need any follow-up advice—or just want to brainstorm ideas—I’m all ears!

Wishing you a truly magical trip,

    Eean
