Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your park hopping question, Sandra.
The new
park pass reservation system can be a little confusing. It was for me, too, at the beginning. The easiest way to explain it is you simply need to make a reservation for the theme park you want to START your day at. You can then plan to enjoy that park, whether it is Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. You can begin to park hop at 2pm that day since you have a park hopper ticket.
By using the
MyDisneyExperience mobile app, you can look to see which parks are allowing park hopping that day by clicking on the three lines in the lower right corner, and then “park hours & info”. Here, each theme park hours will show, and also “park hopper availability” and the time (2:00 pm to close). While we have never had an issue with park hopping availability, the week of Christmas might be more crowded, so you will want to be sure to check the app before heading to your next theme park.
It is as easy as that! Last weekend, my friends and I park hopped a couple of times. I find that the easiest hop is from EPCOT to Disney’s Hollywood Studios using the
Disney Skyliner. This ride takes about 20 minutes and is like another attraction. The attraction times in the evening at Hollywood Studios also seem to be lighter than the morning.
I hope this helps with planning for your holiday visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have a chance, stop by Disney’s Beach Club Resort to see the cute Gingerbread Carousel. It is The Little Mermaid themed this year, and there are 21 hidden golden Mickeys to try and find. (We found 20).
Happy Traveling (& hopping),
Tracy
