Hiya, Ginger. Welcome to planDisney. It's so nice to see you here!
So the simple answer to your question is...magic. It
all runs on magic! And while that's definitely true, there is also some really cool technology at work here as well. So let's talk about the ways to ensure you get all of your amazing photos with your
Memory Maker package.
First, make sure your Memory Maker purchase is linked to your account by logging into your
My Disney Experience account, selecting "My Plans" from the My Disney Experience menu, and scrolling down to the heading "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets." Select "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" underneath this heading and scroll down to "Memory Maker Purchases." If it's not listed, you'll have to
link it to your account. Once you are at the resort and a Cast Member takes your picture, scan your
Disney Band,
Disney MagicMobile, or you can use your
My Disney Experience mobile app. To use the app, simply select the 3 horizontal lines (☰) in the bottom right-hand corner, select "Photos," tap "Link Photos" in the upper right-hand corner, and then select "Show PhotoPass Code." Your PhotoPass Photographer can scan that code as well.
Once you have had your first picture taken, make sure to click on the photo so that a prompt to activate Memory Maker pops up. Once activated, the watermark over your pictures should disappear. Please note that if other members of your party are linked to your account through the
My Family & Friends list, they should also be able to take pictures and see your pictures (as long as sharing has been enabled), but they will still see the watermark. When you download the pictures,
you can share them with others without the watermark!
Ginger, I hope your holiday trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort is wonderful.
Reach out again if you have any other questions!
Today's special moments are tomorrow's memories,
Matt
